Good to know as an English speaking customer

We want to serve our customers as smoothly as possible also in English. On this page, we have gathered information about which stages of buying insurance and handling matters are available in English and which are still currently handled in Finnish.

Buying an insurance

We offer the entire purchase process online in English if you are buying home insurance for a flat or a terraced house.

If you want to buy any other type of insurance, we will serve you by phone. You can reach our customer service at +358 10 19 19 19. For service in English, select number 9 after the call connects.

Insurance documents and invoices 

Insurance terms and guides are partly available in English. The terms have been translated from Finnish into English, but in case of discrepancies, the Finnish version will prevail. 

Invoices are currently delivered only in Finnish. 

My Pages and written communication

Our electronic service My Pages is currently available only in Finnish. If you need help using My Pages, you can call our customer service and we will gladly assist you.

Reporting Your Claim

If you have a loss or damage, you can call If's service number +358 10 19 19 19 and choose "9" for service in English. Please see opening hours. In case of an emergency, if you need help with towing your car or have suffered an accident, you can call us 24/7.

If Customer Ombudsman 

The If Customer Ombudsman handles appeals related to, for example, insurance or claims decisions. This service is also available in English.
